H&M Fashion Studio!

Quando devo mettermi a tradurre una pallosissima versione di Seneca che vaneggia di leoni belli e brutti sottointendendo una parola su due, la cosa migliore da fare è mettermi a giocare con H&M Fashion Studio!

When I have to translate the most boring reading by Seneca, which happens to be all about beautiful or ugly lions, omitting one word in two, the best thing I can do is playing with H&M Fashion Studio!

Ecco a voi, signore e signori, alcuni outfit nati dalla collaborazione tra me e il grande (?) autore latino. Magari più in là nel tempo potremmo spingerci a dare vita a un'intera collezione, "Irene loves Seneca", o qualcosa del genere.

Ladies and gentlemen, here I am with some outfits born out of a collaboration between me and the great (?) Latin author. Maybe later on we could start a whole collection, "Irene loves Seneca" or something like that.

1. Colori neutri - Neutrals

I colori di questo outfit sono neutri (sorpresa!). La cosa che mi piace di più sono i collant, sembrano opalescenti, spero di trovarli al negozio per scoprire se lo sono davvero.
Qualcuno di voi li ha provati, o anche solo visti?

This outfit is all about neutrals (surprise surprise!). The tights are what I like the most, they look somehow opalescent, I hope to find them at the shop to figure out if they really are.
Did any of you try them on, or just see them?

2. Sbrilluccicante con tocco tribale - Shiny with a tribal touch


Adoro maglietta, gonna e collana! Questo outfit è davvero molto molto me. Nella vita reale, però, ci abbinerei degli stivali più alti, perché non mi piace che si veda quella zona nuda tra le scarpe e i leggings.

I love the shirt, skirt and necklace! This outfit is really really me. In real life, though, I would wear higher boots with it, cause I don't like the bare skin area between the shoes and the leggings.

3. Barocco nonnesco un po' rock - Barock, granny, a little bit rock

Oh, yeah! Barocchi la maglietta stampata e la cascata di collane, nonneschi la gonna lunga fino ai piedi e il fioccone, e un po' rock i guanti di pelle senza dita.

Oh, yeah! Printed t shirt and multiple necklace: barock; skirt long to the foot and huge bow, granny; leather fingerless gloves: a little bit rock.

3. Pizzo pelle e accessori in rosso - Lace, leather and red accessoires

Questo invece è più un gioco che un completo che mi metterei davvero - la rosa nei capelli e la gigantesca cintura a fiocco sono un po' troppo anche per me. Chiederò ad Ale se lei lo trova mettibile - fiori e fiocchi sono più il suo genere!
In ogni caso, hip hip urrà per il pizzo (e la modella bionda che secondo me assomiglia a Hannah Murray).

This is more a game than an outfit I'd really wear - the flower hairclip and the huge bow belt are too much even for me. I'll ask Ale if she finds it wearable - flowers and bows are more her thing!
Anyway, hip hip hurrah for the lace (and the blonde model who looks in my opinion like Hannah Murray).

4. Tuta & paillettes - Tracksuit & sequins

Estremo. Amore.
Premetto che non sono una fan della tuta di alta moda, per me una tuta è e resta una tuta; ma non deve essere necessariamente brutta o inelegante!
Secondo me la maglietta di paillettes si abbina benissimo alla gonna e alla giacca sportivi; con le scarpe da ginnastica e una borsa grande è un outfit perfetto per la scuola, con delle scarpe col tacco diventa un look ironico per uscire la sera.
(P.S. Se avessi potuto scegliere il colore delle scarpe, non credo che sarebbe stato arancione, anche se un po' di colore non ci sta affatto male. Il limite di H&M Fashion Studio è che si può ovviamente scegliere solo tra i capi di H&M, e queste erano le uniche scarpe da ginnastica!)

I'm really not a high - fashion - tracksuit fan, a tracksuit is and stays a tracksuit to me; but this doesn't mean it has to be ugly or unfashionable!
I think the sequined shirt looks beautiful with the sporty skirt and hoodie; paired with sneakers and a big bag it's the perfect school outfit, while it could be an ironical party outfit with a pair of high heels.
(P.S. If I could have chosen the shoe colour, I think it wouldn't have been orange, although a pop of colour in the look doesn't look bad at all. The limit in H&M Fashion Studio is that you can obviously pick only H&M items, and these were the only sneakers!)

5. Pizzo animale - Animal lace

Pizzo, pelliccia ed animalier: raffinatezza e selvaticume!
Il collo di pelliccia, il vestito stampato e i dettagli di pseudomontone sulle scarpe dicono ROARR, mentre la maglietta e i collant di pizzo dicono... dicono... stanno zitti, ecco, ma con stile.

The fur necklet, printed dress and pseudoshearling details on the shoes say RAWRR, while the lace shirt and tights say... say... well they don't say anything but look very stylish.

6. Romantico indeciso - Indecisive romantic

La maglia larga a fiori, i guanti da signora, le collane, la gonna lunga e la modella che secondo me ri - assomiglia ad Hannah Murray rendono questo outfit romantico. Il fatto che ne abbia fatte due versioni diverse e che non sapessi quale delle due fosse la migliore da postare lo rende indeciso.

The baggy flowered shirt, ladylike gloves, necklaces, long skirt and the still - Hannah - Murray - looking model made this outfit pretty romantic. The two versions I made and the difficult decision about which one I should have been posting made it indecisive.


Ripensandoci, credo di preferire la seconda, perché il parka spezza di più con l'aspetto romantico e femminile del tutto e perché adoro come la stampa sulla sciarpa completa e si confonde con quella della maglietta.

Reconsidering it, I think I like the second version best, because the parka contrasts the romantic feminine look and because I love how the print on the scarf completes and matches the shirt.

Lost in England

Perdermi nelle campagne inglesi è la cosa migliore che so fare! Ed è anche divertente.
Queste sono le foto (tratte da un video che mai farò vedere - troppo imbarazzante il panico nei nostri volti) dell'ultima volta che mi è capitato con la nostra amica Giulia... e spero tanto che mi ricapiti presto.

Getting lost in the English countryside is the best thing I can do! And it's fun, too.
These are some pictures (taken from a video that I'll never, ever show you - so much embarrassing panic on our faces) from the last time it happened with our friend Giulia ... and I hope that I will happen again very soon.

New Yorker & Bunny Suicides

L'ultima volta che sono stata al centro commerciale Etnapolis mi sono imbattuta in una graditissima sorpresa: un negozio della catena tedesca New Yorker ha aperto a Catania!

The last time I went to the local mall Etnapolis I had a really nice surprise: the German shop New Yorker has opened in my city, Catania!

Ho strillato, saltellato per la gioia, accennato un balletto e sopratutto comprato. Il mio amico immaginario chiede "cosa?". Ecco, mio adorato:

I squealed, jumped up and down, kinda danced and above all, bought. My imaginary friend asks "what did you buy?". That's what I bought, sweetie:

Un vestito di pelle. E' aderentissimo, lucido e vagamente futuristico. Questa orrenda foto scattata da me non gli rende assolutamente giustizia!
L'ho indossato lo scorso sabato con calze a rete, Doc Martens nere e una collana argentata (la stessa che indosso in questo post, l'ho comprata in saldo da Pimkie ed è una delle mie preferite), ma la prossima volta vorrei andare meno sul sicuro e abbinarci qualcosa di colorato.

A leather dress. It's very closefitting, shiny and vaguely futuristic I think. This awful photo I took really doesn't show how great it is!
I wore it last Saturday with fishnet tights, black Doc Martens and a silver necklace (the one I'm wearing in this post, I bought it at Pimkie on sale and it's one of my favourites), but next time I'd like not to play it safe and to wear the dress with something colourful.

Anche questo povero vestito a righe si sente bistrattato dall'orrenda qualità dell'immagine - sul davanti ci sono delle ruches e dei bottoncini.
L'ho comprato per indossarlo a scuola con un cardigan e collant spessi.

This poor striped dress feels like the horrible picture quality doesn't do justice to it, too - on the front there are ruffles and bottons.
I bought it so I can wear it at school with a cardigan and thick tights.

Quello che nella foto sembra un vestito da trapezista del circo (una cosa molto figa quindi u.u) è in realtà un body di velluto blu scuro abbinato a una gonna a palloncino nera con tante pagliuzze argentate nella stoffa.
Della gonna non mi piace molto l'elastico a vista, ergo devo pensare a una maniera per occultarlo!

What in the picture looks like a circus trapezist dress (which is definetely something very very cool u.u) actually is a dark blue velvet leotard plus a black balloon skirt with a lot of small silver motes on the fabric.
I don't really like that you can see the skirt's elastic, so I gotta find something to hide it!

Quando li ho comprati non ci avevo fatto caso, ma devo dire che il body e la gonna mi piacciono molto insieme - sarà il richiamo della vita circense?
Quanto al cappello, semplicemente non potevo non comprarlo, innanzitutto perché era della mia misura (a quanto pare ho una testa troppo piccola per la maggior parte dei cappelli standard), poi perché è rosso, un colore piuttosto presente nel mio guardaroba! Visto da sopra sembra un'insalatiera, ma voi fidatevi, ne valeva la pena, e poi guardate come armonizza bene con l'outfit da trapezista. *musichetta del circo*

When I got them I wasn't really thinking about it, but I like how the leotard and the skirt look together a lot - maybe it's the circus life's call?
As for the hat, I just couldn't avoid buying it, first of all because it was my size (it seems that my head is too small for standard hats), and then because it's red, a colour I tend to wear pretty often! Seen from above it looks like a salad bowl, but trust me, it was totally worth buying, and it looks pretty nice with the trapezist outfit. *circus music*


Di questa gonna mi sono piaciuti i colori delicati chenonsononero (mi sono autoconvinta che indosso troppo nero...) e la sensazione di "made in China l'altroieri, ma tanto vintage".
Il foulard sullo sfondo invece l'ho comprato da Zara, per l'effetto cartoon e sopratutto perché mi ricordava i Coniglietti Suicidi:

I liked this skirt because of its delicate colours whicharenotblack (I convinced myself I wear too much black...) and that "made in China the day before yesterday, but so vintage looking" sensation.
I bought the scarf under it at Zara, because of its cartoony look and especially because it reminded me of the Bunny Suicides:

Travel the World

Penso che quando viaggiamo sia l'unico momento in cui non sprechiamo la nostra vita. In cui impariamo davvero qualcosa e conosciamo noi stessi. Viaggiare è la cosa che più amo fare al mondo!

I think it's only when we travel that we stop wasting our lives, when we learn something and really know ourselves. Travelling is the thing I like to do the most in the world!

Sapete cos’è che mi piace più di tutto della moda?
Che quando mi sento triste o annoiata basta un’occhiata a una rivista, un catalogo, un blog per tirarmi su.

Do you know what I like the most about fashion?
I like that when I’m sad or bored, a look at a magazine, a catalogue, a blog is enough to cheer me up.

C’è chi dice che questa ossessione per il look sia puro consumismo e che quella che noi chiamiamo passione in realtà sia solo un’abitudine malsana che la nostra società basata sull’apparire ci impone.

Some people say that this obsession with the look is just consumerism and that what we call our passion is nothing but a really bad habit our society imposes us.

Ma io non la penso così; io credo nella moda come forma d’arte e come mezzo di espressione della propria personalità.

But I don't think so; I believe in fashion as a form of art and a way to express your personality.

La prima cosa che faccio la mattina quando mi sveglio è accendere MTV!

The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is turning the tv on MTV!

Di solito sono troppo addormentata per distinguere un video dall'altro e tengo il volume bassissimo per non svegliare i miei genitori che ancora dormono, ma in ogni caso mi aiuta a incominciare la giornata con il piede giusto :)

Usually I'm too sleepy even to notice the difference between a video and the one that comes next, and I keep the volume very very low because my parents are still sleeping, but it helps me to start the day with the right foot anyway :)

Mi piace la canzone, mi piace com'è vestita la ragazza, e soprattutto mi piace l'atmosfera che c'è in alcune scene, sa di inverno e di nuovi inizi e mi ricorda i primi mesi che ho passato in Austria.

I like the song, I like how the girl in the song is dressed, but above all I like the atmosphere in some scenes, it feels like winter and new starts and it reminds me of the first months I spent in Austria.

Have you already seen the new pictures of the Lanvin for H&M collection!? We find it amazing and we hope to see it as soon as possible in the shops. Unfortunately, not all of them are ordering it, and we don't know about the one in Catania yet. Fingers crossed!
